Fabrication is Open Today, Even Though it's a State Holiday
Y'all, it's Confederate Memorial Day in South Carolina, and State offices are closed. (Recently transplanted, Northerners, please close your mouths. I know it's a ridiculous holiday, but your standing there with your jaw slack is not attractive.)
Today is the anniversary of Jefferson Davis's capture by Federal troops, that's why the DMV is closed. On the other hand, Tennessee celebrates Jeff Davis's birthday, June 3, as Confederate Memorial Day. Texas has a ginned-up Confederate Heroes Day on January 19, which rather awkwardly coincides with Martin Luther King, Jr., Day in some years. Virginia lumps the secessionist celebration with the national Memorial Day. You're seeing a pattern of disorganization, which perhaps contributed to the Confederacy's defeat?
